Georges Fusenot was born in France in 1879. A cousin of Germaine Fusenot, Georges immigrated to the United States in the early 1900’s at the request of Germaine’s father, Auguste.
After, working with Auguste at the Fusenot’s prestigious “Ville de Paris” department store in Los Angeles for several years, Georges married Germaine in 1907.
Upon the untimely death of Auguste in 1907, Georges continued to manage the “Ville de Paris” until it was sold in 1915 to the owners of the Emporium, a well-known San Francisco department store.
Georges and Germaine were active philanthropists, including supporting numerous war efforts during World War I and II.
Georges became a naturalized US citizen in 1913. He died in 1963.
